Earning the means to support one’s family must be a matter of course
The bioRe® Foundation was established in 1997. Its purpose is to promote organic and biodynamic farming, in particular of cotton, as a sustainable livelihood, and to support farmer families in need in developing countries and emerging markets.
The bioRe® Foundation has promoted projects in the fields below:
- Organic and biodynamic farming.
- Build-up of infrastructure in the areas of health, nutrition and agriculture.
- Organisation and capital build-up.
The projects and programmes supported by the bioRe® Foundation are primarily aimed at:
- Self-administration by farmer communities as a long-term objective in all social and farming projects;
- Promotion of ownership and empowerment by means of knowledge transfer;
- Reinforcement of supported communities by income generation as well as improvement on health, education and agricultural infrastructure.
The bioRe® Foundation is the umbrella organisation of a unique value chain originating from the companies in India and Tanzania. bioRe® India Ltd und bioRe® Tanzania Ltd cooperate directly with the cotton farmers. While these companies have separate identities, they pursue the same goal, i.e. to strengthen farmer families by means of organic farming and to improve their living conditions.
